Music Journal
A (non-exhaustive) catalogue of the music I come across and my hot takes on them.
Welcome to my music blog!
Unlike my main blog, which is reserved for long-form writings, I primarily use this blog to talk about and review the music I come across.
I mainly listen to progressive metal and rock, technical death metal, power metal, and pop punk, so most of my reviews here focus on works in those genres. That said, I occasionally get non-metal music recommendations from people I know, in which case I might review them too.

Opus · Nospūn
· Rating: 9/10
I feel like I’ve stumbled upon some kind of hidden treasure — a classic prog metal concept album with theatrical vocals, groovy technical riffs, beautiful solos, and a cheesy storyline, in 2025? I’m honestly surprised I haven’t heard of these guys until now.

Dogma · Dogma
· Rating: 8/10
Dogma’s eponymous debut album about nuns rejecting religious repression is probably one of the more interesting ones I’ve come across this year.

The Living Measure of Time · Jurojin
· Rating: 7/10
If I had a nickel for every time a progressive metal band released a particularly interesting debut album in the mid-2010s and then vanished forevermore, I’d have three nickels — which isn’t a lot, but it is weird that it’s happened thrice now.

METAL FORTH · BABYMETAL
· Rating: 9/10
My first review (🥳)! And incidentally also the first BABYMETAL album I’ve listened to completely, from start to finish.
